Deepesh Patel

Chair of the Herbert Morrison Committee

Originally from Cheltenham, Deepesh has lived in London for 3 years since leaving Durham University. Deepesh is Director at Trade Finance Global. Previously he was the Digital Acquisition Manager at Travelex, and before that, worked with the British Science Association and co-founded a science education company. He is a fellow of the New Entrepreneurs Foundation and is a passionate advocate for STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects.

Christopher Toye - Executive Headteacher

Executive Headteacher for the Wyvern Federation of schools which includes Wyvil Primary School, Ashmole Primary School and Vauxhall Primary School.

Lucy Peake - Headteacher

Headteacher– grew up in Pimlico and has been at HMPS since 1997. BEd Honours in Education and National Professional Qualification Headship.

Neil Moorcroft - Co-opted Governor / Acting Headteacher

Co-opted Governor – Acting Headteacher. Neil has been at HMPS since 2001. He studied to be a teacher at Roehampton Institute.

Kirsty Simmons - Parent Governor

Parent Governor - Kirsty has two children, one has now left Herbert Morrison and the youngest is currently in KS2.

John Connolly - Parent Governor

Parent Governor – An educationalist who works for England’s Children’s Commissioner, John was previously with the Teacher Training Agency and the Department of Education.

Owain Thomas - Associate Governor

Associate Governors - Originally from South Wales, has lived in London since leaving university in 1994 and is now a barrister.

Vanessa Bennett - Staff Governor

Staff Governor – Assistant Headteacher. Vanessa has taught at Herbert Morrison since 2000 after completing her PGCE at South Bank University.
